"Enabling blocked users to see posts is catering to abusers and stalkers, indulging and facilitating their behaviors," wrote London Victims' Commissioner Claire Waxman last month.
X stated it was making the change because users can already see and interact with blocked accounts by switching to a non-blocked account, promoting 'greater transparency'.
While there is still a block button, the change raises concerns as it might not comply with app store rules that require blocking abusive users.
Experts on social-media abuse disagree with X's rationale, highlighting the risks of allowing stalkers greater access to the content of those who blocked them.
