Tana is a new startup emerging from stealth with $25 million in funding, claiming to have developed an innovative app that revolutionizes task management and organization. By leveraging AI, Tana listens to conversations or voice memos, transcribing them into actionable items which it can manage towards creating lists, spreadsheets, and updates. It features a 'Supertag' functionality for structuring unstructured information seamlessly. Positioned for both individual and team functionalities, Tana aims to simplify how users handle daily data and collaborative tasks, promoting efficient workflow without manual sorting.
"We are building out a knowledge graph," said CEO Tarjei Vassbotn in an interview. Tana is a major fast-flowing river in Norway and Vassbotn said that the startup named itself after it. "Tana is a river of information," he said.
At its most basic, Tana is part automated-list builder and note taker, part application enabler, and part organiser. It can listen to conversations, transcribing them and turning them into action items.
