Splavarska Lent-Tabor Bridge / Burgos & Garrido arquitectos + Bernabeu Ingenieros
Briefly

The Splavarska pedestrian bridge serves not only as a functional link between Maribor's banks but also pays homage to its historical significance, notably the raftsmen who traditionally traversed the Drava.
Crafted entirely of wood, the pedestrian bridge's muted tones and understated design echo Maribor’s natural surroundings and evoke a sense of history, recalling the large logs once carried down the river.
With its arched profile formed by steel girders, the Splavarska presents a contemporary contrast to the historic Stari Most, establishing a modern identity while resonating with the past.
Upon completion, the bridge will begin to blend into its environment, with its wooden planks aging to a greyish hue, symbolizing a bridge that evolves and integrates with time.
