Sonja Krawesky discovered two beautiful sculptures by artist Sydney Blum in a discount store, mistakenly sold for $3.50 each. After researching their value, she connected with Blum, whose artworks had been lost during mailing for an art fair. Their correspondence sparked a friendship as the sculptures found their way back to Blum's studio. Blum, who invested 300 hours in creating the pieces, named her series "Icarus-Colour-Space," reflecting her hope of evoking transcendence through art, further illustrating the unexpected connections life can present.
"They're not going to be on my walls, but that's okay. The story was so much better than the art on my walls."
"It pulls them in without them really knowing it, and takes them to another part of themselves."
