Sara Sharif's stepmum was 'vulnerable victim of honour-based abuse'

Caroline Carberry KC suggested that when Sharif first met Batool, she was young and vulnerable, just how he liked his partners to be.

Ms Carberry pointed to a message from Batool where she expressed despair: 'I don't want to live in an abusive relationship seriously I'm so done with this,' highlighting her unhappiness.

Caroline Carberry alleges that Sharif twisted events and manipulated situations to project himself as a victim, demonstrating controlling and abusive behavior throughout the relationship.

The notion that Sharif called Batool 'anything but vulnerable' highlighted a significant denial of her struggles and his role in creating a coercive environment.
