SAP in revenue trap unless it extends legacy ERP support
Briefly

SAP faces a significant challenge with its legacy ECC software, as many of its largest customers are hesitant to transition to the new S/4HANA platform. Gartner estimates that a substantial portion of SAP's ERP user base will still be reliant on ECC when support ends in 2030. This posits a threat to SAP's revenue, as switching systems often entails huge costs. Despite SAP's campaign highlighting the advantages of S/4HANA, the complexity and expenses related to the transition deter many customers from making the switch.
A lot of customers are stable on ECC, and have been for years now. Many of them struggle to come to terms with the idea of making a multimillion-dollar investment.
Despite SAP's efforts and some progress, a significant number of users remain unconvinced of the need to jump to the new S/4HANA platform.
