Pour one out for Cruise and why autonomous vehicle test miles dropped 50% | TechCrunch
Briefly

Cruise has officially ceased its operations as a robotaxi company following its acquisition by General Motors. The transition resulted in a 50% reduction in the workforce, equating to around 1,000 layoffs, while the remaining employees will be integrated into GM to enhance its advanced driver-assistance system known as Super Cruise. One indicator was this tidbit from sources who told us that Cruise had been ready to implement a retrofitted sensor solution, internally referred to as Project Rhino.
