Guy Cavallo, the Office of Personnel Management's chief information officer, announced on Monday that he is stepping down from his role at the end of the week.
Cavallo, who served as the agency's longest-serving CIO, expressed pride in his team's accomplishments, particularly in transforming the CIO organization and leading IT modernization.
Under his leadership, OPM launched the Postal Health Benefit System, which serves over 1.7 million postal workers and retirees, achieving high operational reliability.
Cavallo mentioned his reputation as a proponent of emerging technologies and highlighted his previous efforts to pilot AI initiatives while at the Small Business Administration.
