Onions connected to deadly McDonald's E. coli outbreak came from Taylor Farms in Salinas
Briefly

McDonald's confirmed that the source of the recent E. coli outbreak comes from onions supplied by Taylor Farms in Salinas, California, which has made many fast food chains reevaluate their menus.
Taylor Farms stated, 'We test both raw and finished products for pathogens and have found no traces of E. coli. We have never seen E. coli O157:H7 associated with onions in the past.'
Ramon Rojas from Rojas Family Farms highlighted that smaller producers can focus better on quality control, contrasting this with larger operations' potential lack of detail.
As a precaution, McDonald's has removed Quarter Pounders from 20% of their locations, leading other fast food chains to also eliminate onions from their menus.
