According to Downdetector, Facebook outages were first reported at about 6pm on Wednesday and have reached more than 100,000 complaints of an issue.
Meta issued an update stating, "Thanks for bearing with us! We're 99% of the way there - just doing some last checks," acknowledging the major technical issue affecting their services.
By around 10pm on Wednesday, DownDetector UK reported 23,445 Facebook outages, 11,466 Instagram outages, and 18,646 WhatsApp outages across Britain.
The social media giant experienced a major service outage reported by users globally, including regions such as Ireland, the UK, Europe, and parts of the US, Asia, and Australia.
