A fire in San Jose displaced a dozen people and two dogs, damaging all four units of a fourplex on Mesa Drive. The cause remains under investigation, while the American Red Cross is assisting those affected.
The San Jose Fire Department confirmed that around 5:10 p.m., a blaze broke out in a fourplex, causing significant damage to one unit from smoke and water, while the others sustained fire damage, rendering them uninhabitable.
As firefighters managed the incident in the fourplex, they also responded to an earlier brush fire near Yerba Buena High School, which ignited at about 3:50 p.m. but fortunately caused no injuries or property damage, including to the school itself.
