The Beton-Eisack headquarters in Klausen underwent a transformation aimed at enhancing workspace functionality and comfort. Architects Armin Blasbichler and Matthias Rainer designed a new office space, featuring a spiral staircase and modern interiors with a focus on daylight and sound insulation through inner courtyards and skylights. The project emphasizes a 'from grey to green' philosophy using green-pigmented lightweight concrete while retaining the iconic grey exterior. This evolution corresponds to the company's changing needs and aims to provide a superior environment for both employees and the production of concrete products.
The aim of the current project was to create functionally efficient and pleasant spaces that would meet the company's changed needs while providing an appropriate stage for the concrete being developed.
A future- and demand-oriented mix of open-plan and individual offices with various meeting options for staff and managers extends over two floors of the levitating volume.
Two inner courtyards and a number of cupola-like skylights significantly improve the daylight situation and sound insulation compared to the existing building, creating a contemporary working atmosphere.
The project interprets the transformation 2002-2022 according to the motto 'from grey to green' and carries it out by utilizing various concrete technologies.
