Airbnb is rolling out 'anti-party technology' worldwide to prevent unauthorized events during the holiday season by blocking or redirecting risky bookings based on machine learning.
The technology assesses several factors including trip length, booking time, and distance from the guest's current location to identify high-risk reservations.
Last New Year's Eve, Airbnb blocked 74,000 bookings identified as high-risk, with a significant portion originating from the US, showcasing the effectiveness of their measures.
Since implementing a ban on disruptive parties in 2022, following tragic incidents related to large gatherings at rental properties, Airbnb has enforced stricter rules to deter such events.
