Quarrel between friends ends in deadly shooting outside a Miami restaurant: cops

In Miami's Overtown neighborhood, a dispute escalated between two long-time friends, resulting in the fatal shooting of one. The confrontation arose in the parking lot of a popular restaurant, the Red Rooster, where witnesses reported that both men had been drinking prior to their argument. The altercation turned violent when Carlton Ziv Davis shot his friend, known as 'White Boy,' in the abdomen after a brief fight. Despite efforts to aid the victim, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. Davis was arrested at the scene, intoxicated and with a firearm present.
Davis, who was intoxicated during the incident, claimed that his friend, the victim, initiated the physical altercation before the shooting occurred.
Witnesses reported that the two men had been friends for years and had been drinking together, which led to a heated argument outside the restaurant.
