Miami Gardens police arrest man accused of shooting mother-in-law

Miami Gardens police arrested 49-year-old Bilal Ismail after he allegedly shot his mother-in-law on Monday morning, leaving her in critical condition. The incident occurred at a residence on NW 203rd Terrace, after which Ismail fled in a blue Ford F-15 pickup truck. He was apprehended almost 24 hours later during a traffic stop. Currently, Ismail is being held without bond at Turner Guilford Correctional Center, facing charges of second-degree attempted murder, as authorities have yet to disclose the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Bilal Ismail shot his mother-in-law at a house at the 4400 Block of NW 203rd Terrace Monday morning around 11:30 a.m. before driving off in a blue Ford F-15 pickup truck.
The woman, who police have not named, remains in critical condition, a police spokesperson said.
On Tuesday night, Ismail was being held at Turner Guilford Correctional Center with bond yet to be set by a judge on a charge of second-degree attempted murder.
Police have not released details of what investigators believe led to the shooting.
