Hypnosis for the Treatment of Emetophobia
Briefly

Emetophobia, defined as an extreme fear of vomiting, can significantly impair daily activities, triggering panic in patients at the prospect of feeling unwell.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold standard treatment for emetophobia, exposing patients to their fears in a controlled manner to build tolerance.
Patients may resist exposure therapy techniques due to the discomfort associated with facing their fears, which can be a hurdle in successful treatment.
Despite the effectiveness of ERP in reducing emetophobia-related fears, patient resistance remains a significant barrier to successfully overcoming the phobia.
