Vox Media CEO Jim Bankoff announced a split into two independent companies. One company will be created through an acquisition spinoff of The Vox Media Podcast Network, New York Magazine, and the Vox website. The acquiring entity is Lupa Systems, James Murdoch’s media/tech holding company. Bankoff will lead the new group as chief executive. Bankoff said the three spun-off properties collectively became the fastest growing business over the past five years.
