News Corp is in advanced negotiations with major AI firms to license the use of its news content, according to CEO Robert Thomson.
"We are wooing, not suing," Thomson said during an earnings call. "But let's be clear: ... the AI world is replete with content counterfeiters."
In contrast to the New York Times' lawsuit against OpenAI, News Corp prefers negotiations with AI firms to solve the issue of content theft.

News Corp has been the most assertive in seeking compensation from tech companies.
"News Corp holds the view that counterfeiting is not creating, and the AI world is replete with content counterfeiters," said Joshua Benton from Harvard University.
