Letters: Digital advertising helped me grow a business. Congress should protect it
Briefly

Just a few years ago, I was homeless, living day to day without much hope. But today, I'm a proud business owner, running a successful business out of my home, all thanks to the power of digital advertising.
My social media following started to grow exponentially after I decided to put a few dollars behind my posts using Facebook's boosted posts feature. For a few dollars a day, boosting posts and targeted ads enabled me to put my posts in front of people who were most likely to want my products.
These digital tools grew my baking business to six figures in just 15 months and have helped many other Louisiana businesses thrive as well. Traditional forms of advertising like TV or print ads are simply too expensive for small business owners.
I encourage our elected officials in Congress to think of small businesses like mine when they consider legislation that would impact advertising on social media.
