Over the weekend, three separate shootings in the Green Meadows neighborhood of South Los Angeles resulted in one fatality and critical injuries for two others. The first incident involved a teenage girl who was shot in the head while at home, and the second involved a 31-year-old woman who died from multiple gunshot wounds. Another shooting took place on Sunday morning, where a third victim was critically injured. The LAPD is investigating whether the shootings are linked but has not confirmed any connections so far.
On Friday, officers responded around 7:30 p.m. to the 700 block of East 108th Street, where a teenage girl was found shot.
A woman, described as approximately 31 years old, was pronounced dead at the hospital after being found with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said it was too soon to say whether the incidents were related, but a total of three shootings occurred in a single weekend.
During the incident early Sunday morning, two men in a blue truck opened fire on a third person while he was sitting in his vehicle.
