The Hurun UK Under40s 2024 list has identified 110 British entrepreneurs under 40, whose startups together are valued at £82 billion. Celebrating their contributions, the list has already resulted in over 60,000 jobs created across various sectors, including fintech, healthcare, and consumer goods. Each entrepreneur on the list has founded a venture worth at least $100 million. London is the primary hub for these innovators, though the North West also features prominently. The diversity of backgrounds among these entrepreneurs, including both high-achieving academics and self-taught individuals, reflects the dynamic nature of Britain's startup ecosystem.
More than a quarter of founders on the list hail from abroad, emphasising the UK's continued pull for global entrepreneurial talent.
Financial services emerged as the most represented sector, accounting for 25 per cent of the entries, highlighting a significant trend in the UK's economic landscape.
