Interestingly, the survey also revealed that traditional phrases like 'thank you' still hold ground, especially in polite cities like Bristol and Manchester; however, 'cheers' emerged as the most popular expression of gratitude overall. The survey was commissioned for publicity for The Big Nationwide Thank You campaign.
