A fourth male, Renaldo Roberts, has been charged with the murder of 20-year-old Jason Junior Romeo, who was fatally stabbed in Hackney on February 18. Three other suspects are also charged and due in court soon. Romeo was pronounced dead at the scene following an altercation. In response to the violence, local police have increased their presence in Hackney, enforcing stop-and-search powers to address rising concerns about knife crime.
A family friend of Mr Romeo expressed deep sorrow, stating, 'What did he do to be dead? He's like a family friend to me. To me and my son.'
Detective Superintendent Vicky Tunstall emphasized, 'Reducing knife crime is a key focus and we will continue to work closely with partners for a safe borough.'
