Elizabeth line's ghost shadows busted with moquette-inspired bench panels
Briefly

Transport for London (TfL) is implementing moquette-inspired panels behind platform benches on the Elizabeth line to combat cleaning difficulties created by unsightly marks known as 'ghosts.' Initially, curved concrete panels were challenging to clean, prompting TfL to devise sticker designs that would prevent such marks. The new stickers feature a design inspired by Elizabeth line moquettes while indicating priority seating. Liverpool Street station already has these panels, with additional installations planned for other stations like Bond Street and Farringdon to improve customer experience.
The Elizabeth line has had a transformational effect since opening, providing new, accessible journey options for customers, including at new central London stations. These stylish new moquette inspired designs will enhance the customer experience by protecting the areas behind the seats.
The new designs feature a silhouette design of seated customers, various reimaginings of the Elizabeth line moquette, and a clearer visual indication of priority seating.
