Chick 'n' Sours, a celebrated Korean fried chicken chain, has permanently closed its two London restaurants due to financial challenges and a broken casual dining model. Co-founder David Wolanski announced via Instagram that after a decade of success, the business could no longer sustain operations at their Haggerston and Seven Dials locations, which closed on May 25, 2025. Despite the closures, Chick 'n' Sours will continue its operations through residencies at various food halls and events, aiming to adapt in a changing market.
The casual dining restaurant model is broken, but that's for another post.
Both Haggerston and Seven Dials restaurants served their final meals on Sunday, May 25, and are now permanently closed.
We hung in there as long as we could but I'm afraid we've now reached the point where operating the two restaurants just isn't viable anymore.
We do what we do because we love it, fuelled by passion and a desire to provide guests with awesome food.
