An 81-year-old man, Brian James, has been charged with the murder of Carol James, also 81, following a tragic incident in Bexleyheath.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Magee emphasized the tragedy of the situation, stating, "This is a tragic incident where a family have lost a loved one."
The police and ambulance service responded quickly but, sadly, Carol James succumbed to her injuries at the scene after being found seriously hurt.
Brian James is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, facing serious allegations regarding the death of Carol James.
