London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it was called at 2.06am last Sunday (February 4) to Green Lane in Chadwell Heath where half the first floor of a house was damaged by fire.
Issuing fire safety advice, an LFB spokesperson said: 'Don't try to contact your local fire station or fire safety team in an emergency. Call 999 and talk to a control room operator, emergency resources can only be mobilised from there'.
