Briefly

Mr. Holden stated, "With British staples like Cornish Pasties, Bramley Apple Pies and Melton Mowbray Pork Pies already enjoying protection, it's now time we protect this important dish to be recognized and celebrated, as it has been enjoyed by families for decades to come."
Mr. Green remarked on BBC Radio 4, "A narrative that pie 'n' mash shops are closing and maybe pie 'n' mash is dying, the reality is it's evolving." He emphasized that this status would affirm that despite rumors of its decline, pie 'n' mash is "very much alive and thriving."
Mr. Green added that obtaining TSG status could "kickstart a fresh look from government agencies and public bodies to recognize the tradition and culture that pie 'n' mash represents." He highlighted the crucial need for recognition of this traditional dish in today's society.
