Yesenia Torres was killed in a premeditated attack orchestrated by her estranged husband, Sergio Reveles, who allegedly hired four other men to carry out the murder. The incident occurred outside a San Bernardino restaurant during daylight and was documented by surveillance footage. Torres attempted to defend herself during the attack, which resulted in Llamas, the main assailant, chasing and fatally shooting her. The police had to investigate for about a month to piece together the case, initially thought to be a robbery gone wrong.
This brazen attack happened in broad daylight, in full view of patrons and employees who were working at the restaurant.
It took detectives roughly a month to fully untangle the case, which at first might have appeared as a simple robbery gone wrong.
