OC's Descanso brings elevated, street-inspired food and plancha dining to LA
Briefly

Descanso, a high-end taqueria originally from Orange County, is set to open its second location in Los Angeles on January 23 at 5773 Wilshire Blvd. This 9,000-square-foot restaurant pays tribute to Mexican street vendors while offering a unique dining experience where chefs cook meals in front of diners. The new venue mirrors its Costa Mesa counterpart, emphasizing fresh ingredients and multi-course meals, akin to a food education rather than a performance. With culturally rich decor, the restaurant seeks to provide an upscale atmosphere while honoring the essence of Mexican street food.
"We're bringing the experience of a taco stand to a higher level here in Los Angeles," said Sergio Lopez, the head chef at the new 240-seat restaurant.
Mexican food has no limits and it's in the streets where you find unique flavors and we're bringing all of that experience to L.A.," he said.
