Holy Basil's Next Act Is Fiery Thai Barbecue in West Adams' Maydan Market
Briefly

Holy Basil, a revered Thai restaurant in Downtown LA, is branching out with the opening of Yhing Yhang BBQ, a street food-inspired eatery in Maydan Market. Chef-Owner Arpapornnopparat, influenced by his Bangkok upbringing and Texas barbecue, will serve a range of grilled meats and traditional dishes. The new venture complements Holy Basil's expansion to Santa Monica, and aims to deliver takeout-style grilled meats reflective of Thai market culture alongside a vibrant atmosphere within Maydan's diverse culinary landscape.
The concept was built around the hearth at the center of the Maydan market space, which aims to provide an easy lunch menu of fresh chopped grilled meat.
We wanted to serve tangy, acidic, and sweet flavors to counter rich meats, blending Thai flavors with smoky barbecue influences.
