A New Black-Owned Supper Club Feels Plucked Out of LA's 1940s South Central Jazz Scene

"We passed on this Slauson space in 2015... but didn’t know if we would ever open anything here," says Relan, reflecting on their long journey back to this area.
"We became obsessed with these spaces and ideas... We wanted to create a 2020s version of that era, but not [necessarily do] a jazz club," states Relan.
The restaurant pays homage to the vibrant history of the area, influenced by the Dunbar Hotel and Central Avenue's jazz scene, emphasizing cultural legacy.
The duo collaborated with designer John Sofio and chef Geter Atienza to create a unique space and menu that honors both the past and modern influences.
