The best logo size depends on its use. For websites, 250x100 pixels works well. For social media, a square size like 400x400 pixels is ideal.
Always use scalable vector files for versatility. Especially when dealing with SVG's and printed output... be mindful of the output and composition.
While an SVG will be 'always sharp', the capabilities of printers will reduce that; small text may not be fine at a distance of 10 feet from a vehicle.
Keep your logos similar to flags; if you're going to use them similarly.
