Leo Marmol, a once-shy student, found inspiration from his sixth-grade teacher, who built his confidence through class presentations. This early support instilled a love for learning in him. Marmol later became fascinated by Louis Kahn's architecture, particularly his philosophical reflections. In 1989, he co-founded Marmol Radziner, a firm recognized for its comprehensive design approach. Beyond architecture, Marmol pursued painting as a personal outlet, evolving it into a serious artistic endeavor after experiencing his first gallery show, which transformed his view of art from hobby to significant aspect of life.
Kahn in particular resonated deeply with me - not just for his buildings but for his philosophical musings on architecture. His idea of moving from 'silence to light' spoke to me.
Painting began as something playful and personal. It was only after I had my first solo show that I began to see painting as more than a hobby.
