Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the hardest game I ever played so why am I back? | Dominik Diamond
Briefly

The author reflects on their unique experience with the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, which became a cherished memory during their youth. Despite rarely replaying games, they revisit it through the PS4 TMNT Cowabunga Collection and find it challenging due to its strict collision detection. They rediscover the strategic elements of gameplay, like swapping between Turtles and using their unique weapons, while also revealing the game's difficult mechanics that had made it iconic in their earlier gaming days.
However, I made an exception with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Because the original was so special. It came along towards the end of my ZX Spectrum playing days.
The collision detection is at Manic Miner/Mega Man levels of unforgiving, but through trial and error I rediscovered things that make the game easier.
I remember also that you can hot swap the Turtles. This means using Donatello with his long pole for everything, switching to Michelangelo with his nunchucks.
