Swiss agritech startup Voltiris lands 5M in seed round
Briefly

Voltiris, a Swiss startup focused on improving greenhouse sustainability and profitability, has secured CHF 4.8M in seed funding co-led by EquityPitcher Ventures and 3M Ventures. This funding will help Voltiris advance its unique solar energy technologies designed for greenhouses. By using specially developed solar modules, the company allows light-sensitive plants to photosynthesize while utilizing unused wavelengths for energy generation. With 12 pilot projects across Europe and partnerships with energy providers, it aims to contribute significantly to agronomic integration and decarbonization efforts in agriculture.
Founded by Nicolas Weber, Dominik Blaser and Jonas Roch, Voltiris is an EPFL spin-off based in Lausanne. The company has developed solar modules designed specifically for greenhouses.
With this new round of financing, Voltiris is ready to significantly expand its activities. Together with 3M, we will take the integration of agronomy and solar energy to a new level.
Nicolas Weber, co-founder of Voltiris, says, 'This milestone brings incredible momentum, and we couldn't be more excited to partner with investors who offer not only capital but deep expertise...'
Voltiris demonstrates how technologies can integrate agriculture with energy production, showcasing its proprietary spectral filter technology in 12 commercial pilot projects across Europe.
