Chef Jared Rogers and restaurateur Dustin Sullivan are launching a new Spanish restaurant, Mijo, on March 3 in North Bay. This venture marks their third collaboration, following the success of Michelin-listed Guesthouse and the now-closed Easy Rider. Mijo aims to fill a gap in Marin County, offering a wood-fired, Catalan-inspired dining experience with a menu that showcases classic Spanish dishes infused with California influences. Signature items include spit-roasted chicken and a seafood tower, all crafted with high-quality ingredients and prepared using wood-fired techniques.
Rogers emphasizes, "We couldn't find a wood-fired, Catalan-inspired Spanish restaurant in Marin [County] that had the caliber of food and drinks that we're trying to do."
He mentions, "I wrote the menu with classic Spanish dishes, some flair we added from the wood, and put some California-Spanish influence on there."
Rogers highlights the spit-roasted chicken, saying, "It's a great, family-friendly dish," indicating a commitment to quality and community.
The chef enthusiastically talks about the head-on langoustines, stating they are "tossed with peppers and spices and fired up in the wood oven."
