A tense verbal conflict on April 17 in downtown Campbell escalated dramatically when a man, identified as Mardin Gevargiz, intentionally hit another man with his car. The incident took place outside Cardiff & Cocktails and was captured on surveillance footage. The victim was hospitalized but released the following day in good health. Police used this footage and license plate readers to identify and arrest Gevargiz at his home, charging him with attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. He is currently in custody and barred from possessing firearms.
