This year keeps breaking our hearts, with events such as the divisive presidential election, violence in Gaza and Israel, and devastating natural disasters compounding stress.
When we are filled with stress and anxiety, our heartache can feel overwhelming, but prayer—regardless of religious affiliation or structure—can be a way to navigate through the pain.
Many of us were raised to believe that prayer is a way to communicate with God, yet it can also serve as a form of self-inquiry and emotional healing.
Having left behind many of the Orthodox practices from my upbringing, I found that holding onto prayer was vital. It became my tool for coping with life's unprecedented challenges.
