Zaha Hadid Architects has been selected to design the Cao'e River Culture and Art Center in Zhejiang, China, a hub for various performing arts with an environmentally friendly focus.
The art center's architecture features jade-green Celadon ceramic facades, wide overhangs for shading, and innovative sloping roofs that protect visitors while enhancing energy efficiency.
The design includes a 1,400-seat Grand Theater and a 500-seat multifunction hall, alongside significant educational and cultural facilities to promote the arts locally and internationally.
By incorporating solar-paneled roofs and self-shading zones, the center aims to minimize its electricity demand, demonstrating Zaha Hadid Architects' commitment to sustainable architecture.
