Step Inside a Santo Domingo Oasis That Radiates Tropical Elegance
Briefly

"It's big, it's airy, it has beautiful light," says designer Isabel López-Quesada describing a new L-shaped home that she designed for a Spanish couple in Santo Domingo.
Instead of a traditional Caribbean aesthetic, López-Quesada's design embraces an urban edge, blending textures and fresh details that subtly evoke the tropical environment.
To combat the region’s storms and hurricanes, the house was elevated, equipped with resilient windows, and fitted with raffia screens to protect against intense sunlight.
The design prioritizes comfort and elegance, with features like a spacious porch, offering natural ventilation and outdoor dining areas that enhance the overall living experience.
