Scenography for the 2025 Islamic Arts Biennale / OMA
Briefly

The 2025 Islamic Arts Biennale features over 500 historical objects and 30 contemporary art commissions, significantly expanding from its inaugural edition. Organized by OMA, the exhibition is structured around five galleries and two pavilions, with outdoor displays under the Hajj Terminal. The show is divided into sections that emphasize themes of spirituality and homage, highlighted by the first-time display of four Kiswahs. Unique scenographic elements create immersive environments that enhance the viewer's experience, promoting dialogue between historical artifacts and modern art while facilitating navigation through the thematic structures.
The scenography of AlMuqtani is designed to give equal importance to both historical artifacts and contemporary art, creating a balanced dialogue between the two realms.
