Lantern House / Atelier Messaoudi Architects
Briefly

The Lantern House project aims to transform an unfinished structure in Chlef into a functional and aesthetically pleasing home by integrating local cultural practices into its design.
We focused on enhancing the existing architecture by incorporating a floral-patterned mashrabiya and resizing windows to reduce the massiveness of the structure.
Two separate living rooms were designed to respect local customs, providing spaces for both men and women, reflecting the client's needs and local traditions.
By removing the sloped roof, we created a spacious terrace that offers a relaxing setting, emphasizing the Mediterranean lifestyle and enhancing social interactions.
