NASA has recently updated the chances of asteroid 2024 YR4, discovered in December, colliding with Earth, reducing the odds from 3.1% to 1.5%. New observations captured by ground-based telescopes have refined our understanding of its path, allowing for more accurate predictions. By April 2025, the asteroid will be too faint for detection, with the next update feasible only in 2028, when it returns closer to Earth.
