Whisk together 1⅔ cups flour, salt, and baking powder. Incorporate chilled cream cheese, then butter until mixture resembles oatmeal. Add ice water to form dough, kneading slightly before rolling out into a rectangle. Fold and roll again, then shape into a disk and chill for at least 2 hours. The dough can be stored in the fridge or frozen for future use, allowing for convenience in baking preparation.
Mix 1⅔ cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. kosher salt, and ¼ tsp. baking powder. Incorporate chilled cream cheese and unsalted butter until mixture resembles oatmeal.
Once combined, make a well in the mixture, add ¼ cup ice water, and knead to form a dough, which may have some dry bits.
Roll out the dough to a ½-inch-thick rectangle and fold it multiple times. Chill the formed disk for at least 2 hours.
You can prepare the dough in advance, storing it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or freezing it for up to a month.
