The Most Anticipated Portland Restaurant Openings, Fall 2024
Briefly

With Bicho's, first-time restaurateur Josef Gonzalez wants to share his version of Salvadoran cuisine with Portland by serving recipes that have been passed down in his family for generations. The focus here will be pupusas, griddled masa cakes stuffed with fillings like zucchini, chicken, cheese, and beans, and served with vinegary curtido and salsa. Mexican dishes such as flautas, tacos, breakfast burritos, and huevos rancheros will round out the menu.
Ollini, owned by Café Olli's Siobhan Speirits and Taylor Manning, is set to become a bakery and wine bar, offering crusty breads and long-fermented, honey-boiled bagels. In the evenings, natural wines will accompany oysters on the half shell, redefining casual dining in the area.
Portland's dining scene continues to evolve amidst rising costs, with enterprising entrepreneurs introducing new concepts. Upcoming restaurants promise a fresh blend of cuisines and creative dining experiences for locals.
