I read the Tribune Editorial Board's endorsement of Ald.Anthony Beale in the 9th Ward ( "Our choices for City Council: Wards 8-13," Feb. 7).With his resume, we should be questioning why he isn't running for mayor.Beale obviously knows how to get things done.And in an article regarding the election ( "García floats property tax relief; Johnson unveils public safety plan," Feb. 7), mayoral candidate Brandon Johnson states that there are almost 1,000 officers on desk duty who could be deployed to the streets.
