Hertz continues EV purge, asks renters if they want to buy instead of return
Briefly

Hertz's aggressive strategy to integrate electric vehicles faced setbacks, including higher repair costs and lower demand, leading to plans to sell thousands of EVs.
Jamie Line stated, 'By connecting our rental customers who opt into our emails to our sales channels, we're not only building awareness of the fact that we sell arsenal but also offering a unique opportunity to someone who may be in the market for the same car they have on rent.'
Hertz's initiative to sell EVs to its customers is coupled with a limited 12-month warranty, offering a seven-day return period for buyer's remorse.
As of this morning, Hertz's extensive EV offering has dwindled significantly, with only 175 BEVs left for sale compared to over 2,100 last March.
