Communities at lake level may see a mixture of rain and snow Monday morning before the storm phases into all snow in the afternoon, said Amanda Young, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Reno.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning through Wednesday at 4 a.m. for the Tahoe Basin. Farther south, in Lee Vining and Mammoth Lakes, the winter storm warning forecasts even more snow and is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday.
