A 35-year-old man was arrested in June on suspicion of making and selling illegal guns at a San Jose apartment complex. The police launched an investigation following a tip, leading to the identification of the suspect and the acquisition of arrest warrants. Investigators seized several illegal firearm-related items, including privately made guns, a silencer-equipped pistol, ammunition, and 3D printing materials. The man faces multiple charges, including manufacturing and possession of unserialized firearms and unlawful sale of firearms.
Detectives seized a cache of illegal firearm-related items, including multiple privately made guns, a pistol equipped with a silencer, ammunition, three 3D printers and more than 40 spools of filament commonly used in the production of firearms.
The man was booked into Santa Clara County jail on charges of manufacturing and possession of unserialized firearms, unlawful sale of firearms and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
